				Planting Bulbs

I just planted a ton of bulbs today. It was such a nice day outside and it was perfect for planting. I planted Tulips, Daffodils, and a few Hyacinths. I will probably be going back out this week to buy more bulbs. They are a little pricey but well worth it. Does anyone here plant bulbs? If so what kind do you like?

i always order bulbs from Breck's. i thought at first they were kind of pricey but they always come up beautiful every spring and they make more "babies" as my dtrs. say. i have been ordering the reblooming irises and daffodils every year for about five years. i don't have a green thumb so if i can't kill them you can't kill them...i just plant 'em and leave them alone. they are always so big and pretty when they bloom. |

I have tried planting bulbs in the past, somehow only few came out. I love it when they start coming out, they look so new and fresh!!

About the only bulb I could plant would be a light bulb - I have a black thumb and planting the light bulb would give me the same result as if I planted a flower bulb - nothing!! You'll have to post pics when things begin to bloom I love flowers, just can't grow my own but I do enjoy seeing what others have done!

I have never planted any flowers before. I usually just buy hanging baskets and this for summer! I may give it a try, but 1st have to figure out where to put them in my landscaping! LOL! I went to Breck's website. Everything looks sooo pretty! When is the best time to plant them?

I've never planted bulbs before (can you believe it? In-laws were florists). Do you have to dig them back up again? This thread should be a question and answer thread....LOLOL I love Hardy mums, do they come up every year? I like the flowers you plant once and enjoy year after year, but don't know if there are very many of those.

I planted some a couple years ago when we first moved into this house. They are still coming up each spring. My question is though, do you plant them in bunches or long rows or just sprinkled here and there and where, around trees or in a place of their own? This is the part I can't figure out, mine don't really look so great I guess. I saw some bulbs just this weekend and I got that hankering to start planting. |
