Very sad, but thank goodness.
Well...as everyone knows I interviewed for that ICU job and decided to keep looking as the program wouldn't start for a few months. My friend called me today crying saying that when she went to sign they told her because of the economy they were unable to hire her. They also told her that she was not the only one. Talking to other people in my program and other programs they retracted their hires also.
I have been actively looking, but am concentrating more on passing my boards. I am happy that I didn't let everything go like everyone else. (Some of the girls gave notices to their current jobs and declined other offers to go to this hospital) I am going to be working as an assistant until I find an RN new grad position. So at least I will have a job for now. I called the job I was working for and they said they are always hiring. They loved me because I was always there, always on time and great with the clients. So I will be able to do that while I study. |

Thank you everyone. They called me tonight and told me they need a position filled now. So they are going to call me and give me details, but looks like it might be a 24 hour job for the next 4 days and then trading of 12 hour shifts. So...here I go.

Sorry, the place that I worked at before was in home health. I go to peoples' houses and take care of them. When they first get a client they like to have only 1 or two caregivers care for them until things settle down. They want me to work 24 hour shifts trading with another girl for the next week and then we will be working 12 hour shifts. Don't worry I was confused when I first started working there. I will be doing this again until I get an RN position in a hospital. I like working here because we have cases, so we work with the same client for weeks until we are no longer needed. It is great to see them improve over the weeks to a point where they are able to become independent again.
