It's Cold Outside!!!!!

It was in the 80's today and a front blew in around 5:30 this evening. Right now at 10:49 p.m., it's 36 but feels like 26!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR....

My truck is in the shop, so have a rental which I need to return in the morning with a full gas tank, so will have to gas up in the cold!!! Not looking forward to it!!!!

It's that humid, damp kind of cold. Yuck!!

I know, I wouldn't feel sorry for us either if I were you all!!! We did have ice this morning, but only on bridges and overpasses. The car was covered with ice and so were trees. I was 29 at my house, but the sun came out by 9:00AM and it was all melting by 10:00. So, we can't complain at all, except my closet is packed because I have not been able to put away all my summer clothes, gotta have 'em for those 80 temp days!!! Makes for a schizophrenic wardrobe!

Come on now, you gotta admit that a sudden shift like that is not good. You're all warm and content and then the temps drop in a matter of 2 or 3 hours to being really cold. This morning it's 28 and feels like 21. Come on ladies, that's cold!!!! And we have so little time to adjust. It's like jumping from the sauna to rolling in snow or something. Our blood is thin, I think.

I know what you mean about schizophrenic wardrobe. We're the same way around here. Short sleeves, capris & flip-flops one day to long pants, trouser socks, sweaters and coats the next. Sheesh!!!!

If we could just stay inside, but this is my traveling week. Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Bay City & Matagorda yesterday. Then there are evening meetings. Just want to stay inside and snuggle. I have to admit though, that it does warm up in the afternoons. The high today is supposed to be 64.

Okay, I'll quit complaining. Wouldn't want to be carrying things uphill in ice. That would be bad!!!

THAT'S IT MARILYN!!!!! It's like jumping from the sauna to rolling in the snow in your capris, short sleeves, and flip flops. It can make you crazy. Then like to day, it felt like 21 this morning, and I was really cold, so I put on a top with a mock turtleneck and now I'm sitting in my office next to the south window with the sun beaming in on me and I am almost SWEATING!!!

I'm so with you on this Gayle. Yesterday morning there was ice on the truck. For once, hubby cleared the windsheild for me, but it fogged up while driving out of the neighborhood, so I used the windshield washer fluid to try to clear it which immediately froze while I was driving so I could barely see. I had to put gas in the truck again, so there I was using a credit card to, scrape the ice off the windshield in my sweater, heavy coat, & gloves. My hands got sooooo cold. Warmed up on the commute to work, then yesterday afternoon it was in the high 60's and I got hot in my sweater. Now this morning it's cold again, 35 feels like 29. This afternoon the high is supposed to be 67. Tomorrow, low 36, high 71. Sheesh!!!

Gayle the others may not be sympathetic, but you and I can comiserate over this because we understand. It's that we're so accustomed to being warm and this sudden shift is dramatic for us.

Okay, Okay, guess I can feel sorry for you. -3 is way tooo cold for me. Maybe this is why some of my ancestors moved from Switzerland to Kansas and ended up in Texas. It's 70 deg here on the coast right now, and 72 deg at my house. Really nice today.

You all probably think I am a WUSS! It was 28 last night, the high today is 40.
Had new central heat installed and it has been running all day and can't get above 65 inside.
We have that damp cold, have a sweats and winter house coat and still freezing.
