My weekend
I finally got to take Scott home with me on the weekend. On Friday I found out that my friend Jen would also be in town for the weekend. I met her here in Saskatoon a few years ago, but she and her boyfriend just moved to another town not far from my hometown. She works in the health region, and was on call at my town's hospital for a few days.
I got home on Friday night and invited her over. My other friend Jenna ended up coming over too and we were planning on playing pool and hanging out but we ended up having drinks and visiting with my parents around the kitchen table until 3:30 am!!! Scott had a couple drinks too many (I think he felt he had to have more when my dad offered!) so I helped him into bed so he could sleep it off all night. Saturday morning we woke up early and my mom made a huge breakfast. Then my dad took my car and washed it for me We got there with a grayish brown car and left with a yellow one lol. Just after lunch time we headed out to a lake to ice fish for an hour. Scott and I were sititng in our tent fishing and I was so tired and I just told him I was about ready to go when I got a bite I caught about a 3 pound jackfish, and it was the only fish between all of us. Anyways, soon after we thought it was time to leave. We packed up and started driving home for supper (I had Gayle's lemon chicken in the slow cooker!). We got stuck! The snow was piled so high and we bottomed out in the truck and no matter how much shovelling we did, we couldn't get out. Luckily other people were on the lake and since there's only one trail in and out, they had to help us if they wanted to leave! It took another hour and a half but finally we got off the lake! Just as we were getting to our house, we saw Jen's car parked in front and her waving to us from the front porch! I had invited her for supper that night, but she didn't wait for me to call lol. The chicken was delicious, although I think I used a little too much rosemary! But everyone loved it anyway. We played pool that night and I was so sick I ended up passing out on a couch downstairs while they went upstairs to play cards. I guess Jen got called to work at 12:30, but Scott stayed up with my parents until 1:30 before he came to put me to bed. I love that he could do that, just be with my parents without me there. On Sunday we drove out to the cabin to see how much snow there was and to show Scott what it looked like out there. While we were there it started POURING RAIN for about 15 minutes before it turned to freezing rain and then snow for the rest of the day. Road conditions were terrible. My dad was sliding on the gravel roads in his 4x4 truck By the time we got home Scott and I decided we would not be making the trip back to the city that day. So we had more time to hang out, and we drove out to see the "new" cabin my parents are hopefully getting pulled out to the lake lot. It's really big! Lots of potential! I'm really excited for it! We got to bed early Sunday night and got to sleep in yesterday. I called work at 8 to say I was stuck at home, and Scott called in sick since we don't want work to know about us yet. By mid afternoon yesterday everything was melting and the highways were good all the way back. All in all it was a really great trip! He did very well coming home with me, for being such a city boy lol. Now it's my turn for pressure! This Friday we leave to visit HIS parents for a weekend!

Lindsey, I'm glad to see you having fun and enjoying life.
My 32 year old daughter, Roxann, got engaged last week. She's talking about a September wedding, but her fiance (Ryan) said end of the year or first of next year. She's already talking colors and outside with inside options in case of rain. I really excited for her. She's been our problem child, but has settled down A LOT in the last year or so.

That is really exciting Sandy!
I forgot to mention, I got to try on my bridesmaid dress while I was home! My friend took it to my mom last weekend while she was in town. It's gorgeous but I think I've gained some weight since last summer My mom could barely zip me up! And then I couldn't breathe lol. I don't feel like I've gained any weight. All of my clothes fit just like they did before! I was measured in the store when they ordered them, and the size on the dress is right! I need to get it fitted here anyway so hopefully something can be done to make it a little more comfortable!

Lindsey -
I would love to visit your family's house! It sounds so nice and fun. I love that your parents are so great! Scott must have really enjoyed himself, being that his family is so rigid. I am so happy for both of you.
