I live in Kansas and we had terrible storms last night too. Lightning was everywhere!!! By the time I got up to check the storm on the computer the worst of it was already past us. It poured rain but I don't know how much. We still have storms today and more bad ones are expected tonight.

Besides my husband, I have a 17 year old daughter here and she hasn't jumped in bed with us for years!!! I always enjoyed it when my kids got in bed with us (at least until they turned sideways and kicked me in the ribs!!).

Storms are really scary! I grew up in Oklahoma so we had very bad storms every spring. Once lightening hit the house next door to us. The BOOM! was SO LOUD it nearly scared me and my 2 year old daughter to death! In fact, she cried every night for the next few weeks when she went to bed. She would stand in her crib and cry "fundo" "fundo". It took me a while to figure out she was saying "thunder".

We had a storm the other night. I was sitting on the couch, looking out the window and all of a sudden a huge flash and this VERY loud pop. Scared me so bad that I screamed and Rick came running in saying "that one hit close." Duh!!! LOL. Poor little Ozzie was shaking. I hope he doesn't become afraid of storms because of my screaming. He didn't like the thunder at all after that.

I know some of y'all have worse storms than we do. My MIL grew up in East Texas, and she talked about how bad the thunder storms were there. I always thought she exagerated a bit until one time I was driving with our two then little girls to visit them once late at night and drove into one of their thunder storms. We don't have anything here like they had there. There were sheets of lightening rolling across the sky. We just have direct lines of lightening here. That was a truly amazing experience, and one I will never forget, I hope. (Alzheimers in the family.)

Yes Marilyn! That's the kind of thunder storm I love, and what we have here...since it's East Texas, lol!! The only thing I don't like is the wind. Tornadoes like to pop up in storms like that. Of course I don't like TOO much lightening...that's just kinda scary! Hmmm...maybe I just want rain and thunder, LOL!!! But when you've been in a bad storm here, it's something you remember...even with Alzheimers
