Recipe wanted

Anyone have a recipe for old fashioned jam cake? I think it's made with blackberry jam and possibly a caramel frosting. We have a family reunion this Saturday, my Mom was wanting to make it.

Gayle, it is delicious. My grandmother made it back years ago, of course, she has long since passed. When I find one I will definitely post it!

Are you sure no one in your family has your grandmother's recipe. It would be really special if you could track down a copy. Never heard of it, but like the others, it sounds wonderful.

Thank you so much for posting this. It looks amazing, and I really would like to try it. May be a couple of weeks before I have time. May take it to the next fellowship meal at church. We don't usually keep a whole cake here at the house. I makes our clothes tight for some reason.

What kind of pans do you use? Is it a layer cake, sheet cake, bundt cake?

Well Marilyn I haven't baked it either, my Mom has. And my Grandmother. I think you could use any kind of pan(s) you wanted. Just check it periodically to see if maybe it would get done quicker in round pans for a layered cake. My grandmother and my Mom make the layers. Mom is making this for Saturday, I will let ya know I don't know how in the world that this could make your clothes tighter, they probably just shrunk in the dryer
