Well, it's Sunday now........

I love Sundays - but that means it is Monday and back to work tomorrow which is Ok, but I could always use an extra day off

Gary and I went out to breakfast - we went the the Waffle House - I imagine not everyone knows about Waffle Houses. It's a whole "nuther" culture there. It stays open 24/7 and you can get breakfast/lunch/dinner at any time. It's a little place, usually in the "not so foo foo" part of town - around airports and the like. It has both booths and counter service. You are seated where you can see them cooking and in many/most Waffle Houses, the waitresses do not give the cooks the order sheet - she just yells out things like "2 scramble, hash browns scattered well, and bacon" It was amazing to us the first time we ate there, how the cook could keep everything straight. There is a system, but I'm not sure I could do it if I were the cook!

You just see the most interesting people at the Waffle House. Gary and I were so intrigued about 20 years ago, when we stopped at a Waffle House on a trip. We'd never been to one before. Anyway, I've always loved eating at Waffle House, and I love to watch the people there. Gary always made fun of me and never wanted to eat there, till he had the pecan waffles - they are REALLY GOOD!!!

So, we stood in line about 15 minutes for a booth, and ate a good breakfast.

Then we had to go to PetSmart for a new bulb for the fish tank light - and it still doesn't work, so I'm going to have to get a new light.

Afterward, I went to the nursery and got some lettuce - but they said it is a little early and may still be too hot - hope not! Also, got some rosemary and cilantro along with 6 bags of compost and one bag of general fertilizer. I'm going to try to get it put on the yard this evening after it cools off a bit as it is supposed to rain Tues/Wed and I want the compost/fertilizer down before the rain.

Now, I'm thinking about going to get a pedicure - last one before I give up wearing sandals for the season in a few weeks - although, I'll have to wear them on that damdable cruise

Well lets see, Janet came over to my resuce today, I have someone coming to look at one of my puppies next weekend and Sadie had not been groomed since before the puppies were born, and i really suck at trimming the dog's, so Janet came and trimmed & touched up 5 of my dog's pluse the little puppy. I had an app. with my groomer but she unexpectantly had her baby a month early and trying to find a groomer around here is next to impossible, i think i need to hire Janet on a permante basis, she always does such a nice job and her dog's always look so nice. Thank you so much Janet for coming to my rescue!!!!

Other than that i haven't really done to much, threw a pork loin in the slow cooker for dinner, it was yummy and now trying to rest up from Sat., hubby & I went to a small festival close by Apple Popcorn Festival and after walking there for a couple of hours i ran and got mom and took her shopping, so i am exhausted. I was suppose to wash the dog's last night so they would be ready for Janet but i was so tired so i was giving baths at 6am . So just being lazy the rest of the day. I need to give puppy baths but it's kind of cool and i have till Friday to get them done.

Oh yeah Gayle we use to have a Waffel house in the town i work in, good food , if you went there at certain times you would find the drunks there sobbering up :eek .

I wish that we had a waffle house but we do have a diner that will fill your plate with a baby cake pancake!!! I don't go into town at all for breakfast.....too much work!! I do love to go to IHOP when we're out of town though!!!

Today we went to church. I teach a k through 2nd grade Sunday School class and I only had one little boy today so the class was pretty easy. After church we went to a restaurant with Glen's brother and some of his friends and his kids and celebrated his birthday. We had really good time visiting.

We're home now and I'm sitting here on the couch with my beloved computer!!! Of course, I have my beloved Jazzi by my side (that way I can keep an eye on her and I know that she's not pottying on the carpet!!). I need to get up and give the dogs a bath and trim up Reuger. Not one of my favorite jobs!!

Janet, I need you to come here and groom my dogs too!!!!!

Actually, I hope that I get my dogs trimmed........I'm fighting the urge to just forget it and take a nap.....ZZZZZZZZZ

I'm planning on bathing and trimming Layla tonight

Today is really cold, windy, and rainy. I slept in until 9:30 and then had a long bubble bath. Finally I went to the store to buy some more mandarin oranges (they're so good, we've been going through a box a week!), some laundry detergent, a muffin pan, and some baking supplies Apparently everyone goes shopping on rainy days, because I stood in line at the check-out for at least 15 minutes!

When I got home, I started baking carrot muffins, and now I have apple crisp in the oven So my house smells like baking and rain. I love it!

I also found this really cool station on my tv that plays all "big band" music from the 30's and 40's So that's been playing all day. It's nice and relaxing to listen to!

Scott just called and he's about a half hour from home, he just pulled off to a little town because he's riding his motorbike and he's pretty cold and wet! I can't wait for him to get here!

We went to church this morning, and then I went shopping with my sister-in-law and my 2 grown nieces..they are BOTH volleyball coaches so we talked volleyball all afternoon, lol!

We are cooking hotdogs across the street at my brother and sister-in-law's (same one) house tonight and we'll all watch the Dallas Cowboy football game. Should be about 15 of us there.

Sadly, the nap won!!!! I'm still going to give the dogs a bath before the day is over!

Lindsey, when it turns cold and rainy I love to bake too!! There's something about it being bad outside but nice and warm inside to bring out the homemaker in me!!

Poor Scott!! I can't imagine riding a motorcycle in the rain!! He's going to be freezing by the time he gets home!!

Well... I went to Lynne's house, but you already know that.. Then I came home let the dogs out to potty and then went to town to the rental house. We have a lovely couple that put a deposit down to rent the house. They will be moving in November 1. This is a great relief for us. We thank our Heavenly Father for answering our prayers.

We then went to Menard's in Lafayette and purchased linoleum for the rental house kitchen and backroom. It was not expensive at all and then it was on sale too. It will look really nice. So we went back to the rental house and put it there until next weekend when we install it.

I did get our shrubs all trimmed and they look so much nicer. It had been since early spring since I trimmed them last so they really needed it.

We then came home and here I am. It started a rainy mist on our way home and is suppose to rain for the next couple of days. We need the rain so it's a good thing./

I slept in until 9:30 for the first time in years! It felt so good and I feel better rested and less sleep deprived. Looks like we all had a good day.

Thank you Diana....it IS a big relief. I have prayed so hard over this and it was really making me sick. So...for the first time ever....I was actually able to "hand it over" and not worry. You really helped me by telling me to try not and worry about something I had no control over. To wait until I actually had something to worry about. Thank you for that advice, you're such a good friend.
