Goulash
I have had this recipe for a coupla months and decided to make it yesterday. It was fantastic!! I love cooking when you only have to use one kettle. A warning though, it makes a 5 qt kettle full, we shared it with our neighbor. He loved it too!!
2 lbs ground beef 1 lg onion chopped 3 cloves garlic 3 cups water 2- 15 oz cans tomato sauce 2- 15 oz cans diced tomatoes 2 tblsp italian seasoning 3 bay leaves 3 tblsp soy sauce 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tblsp season salt 2 cups macaroni (uncooked) Saute beef, add onions and garlic, saute about 5 min. Add other ingredients except macaroni Cover and cook 20 min. Add macaroni, simmer 30 min. let stand another 30 min. Remove bay leaves and serve. |

My Mom used to make goulash when I was very young.
She browned hamburger and stirred it in a can of spagetti.. yuck!! For years I hated goulash. The thought of it brought back that horrible meal. Then a few years ago, a friend at work brought me in some of her goulash. It was so good, and now I am a lover of goulash! Your recipe sounds good! Going to have to try it soon. Thanks for sharing! |

I'm going to make it this week! I bought some meat at the market that has to be cooked before I can make something else - but come Wed/Thurs, I'm making goulash!

Thanks Paula. That looks like a great winter meal. I think it would pretty easy to make it low fat too. I'm going to try it. I can portion it out into baggies, and freeze them.

Darn! I got home from work too late to get it made, so I am planning to make it tomorrow when I will have more time.
We had Taco Bell tonight! Hey I offered to make some other things that were quick, but some guy that lives with me requested Taco Bell. I wonder what that says about my cooking. LOL!

I hope you get a chance to make it today. Sometimes Taco Bell just hits the spot! Maybe that guy that lives with you was just in the mood for a taco
