Baby shower Saturday!

I am so excited! My new grandson is due March 27, and we are having the shower on Saturday. This will be my son Eric's first child. Eric is 29 and proud as a peacock already Anyway.........I got a rain forest bouncer, it is so cute, there is a monkey and a frog that play peek-a-boo, it has a vibrator and a light up waterfall and it plays music and there are a couple of toys on it as well. I also bought receiving blankets with doggie paw prints that are so cute. And hooded bath towels, one of which says "Hunk" on the hood wash cloths, little knit hats and mittens that match, 3 bibs, one that says "Lock up your daughters"~~adorable!

So..tomorrow afternoon I am leaving for a couple of days because they live about two hours away, I'll let ya know how it goes.

His name will be Ryan. And I guarantee he will spoiled rotten

We have a baby shower on Saturday too!!! I just got finished helping Karlie to make a card for the baby. She picked out a little toy for him when we went to town a couple of days ago and I'm going to take it to the shower for her. We put it in a Superman sack!! It's so cute!!!

You did get a lot of stuff for the baby!!!! I got a couple of sleepers and some receiving blankets for the shower but I also bought the baby's bed and mattress. I'll probably end up getting more stuff after the shower to help fill in. Dae Lynn and Damon are struggling financially right now.

Like you, I'm so excited about our baby!! Dae Lynn had more sonogram pictures on Wednesday!!! You could really see the baby's face.......and his little boy parts!!!! We have exactly a month left!!

I also have a neice-in-law/best freind's daughter that's having twins....a boy and a girl in a couple of weeks. We're excited about them as well!!!

I can sure feel the excitement in your post Paula. You are going to have one spoiled little boy. He'll be here before ya know it too.

Looks like the next 30 days are going to be full of babies. What a wonderful time!

The shower went wonderful!!! They got tons of stuff! My son called this morning and said they got 15 blankets all together. They had a huge gift bag of stuff to take back and exchange. The babies closet won't hold all of his clothes
This being their first child, they went out and bought alot of stuff themselves. I told them, don't do that until after the shower, but excitement got the best of them, and now the closet won't hold everything!!

Diana, they got those pictures made too. They blew my mind!! You really can see the babies face, it's amazing! You couldn't see the boy parts but you can see eyes, nose, mouth, a hand and a foot. But the face was so precious.
I can't wait till he's here!!

I will definitey post pics of baby Ryan

I'm so glad that Dae Lynn's shower went good!! And lots of presents too!! I don't think the bad economy is keeping people from shopping for babies
I'm glad some people brought gifts for Karlie too. She's still just a toddler herself! We used to do that for the grandkids birthdays, I have 2 that are in July, so I always got the other granddaughter a little something too, since she was the only one who wouldn't have gotten a present.
Can't wait to see your pics Diana. I forgot my camera, but you can bet I won't forget it when Ryan is born!!

How exciting Diana! DaeLynn us due so soon! Karlie is so cute getting the baby a gift! I can't wait to see pictures.

Enjoy shopping for the baby!!! When Jessie was pregnant with Mackenzie, money was tight for them too. I had more fun buying stuff for the baby!! I even got to buy Jessie her first maternity wardrobe.

I bought Dae Lynn's clothes too. I found some maternity jeans in her size at a garage sale that were like new and we went to a maternity clothing store when we were in Branson last fall and bought her quite a bit of stuff. They've really been struggling financially. It just breaks my heart but I can remember the days when it was Glen and I that were struggling. It's a fast way to learn how to manage your money and to live within your means!!!

You are right, Diana! I'm sure you know when to help out and when to let them figure it out for themselves. It is an invaluable lesson, and luckily, they have you and Glen to get their backs if they really fall down.

At this point, I don't really need to get involved with Jessie and Steve financially.
It is a relief! I cannot imagine how they do it. Steve has not worked in so long, but they made money from breeding the dogs, and now Steve is fixing up my ex husband'[s house, so I guess they can manage. I don't ask any questions. I guess they learned how to deal with money. They do owe me $500. I am keeping it as a loan, although I could go either way. I think it is best to let them think they owe it to me. You think I'll ever be repaid?

If I had to bet on that, I'd bet "no" but then you never know!

He'll probably "work" it off, by doing some things I need, like a ceiling fan in the kitchen. Of course, the job price will have to be hiked up so that he can make some money, and this could go on for the next 15 years!!!

I could so easily tell them to forget about the loan. I already don't have the $500, and have lived without it, but I just don't think that is a good idea.
