Voices

Have you ever noticed how some people's voice is just annoying? Gary and I eat breakfast sometimes at a Mexican restaurant. It is frequented by LOTS of construction workers, mostly men. There are times when a group will be sitting next to us or close to us and one person will have the most obnoxious or loud voice. It just annoys the heck out of me and all I can hear is that person talking talking talking!!! It drives me crazy. Am I just silly?

Of course not! Sometimes odd things just get on our nerves. The more I try to ignore something, the more focused on it I become Sometimes I get on my OWN nerves

You know you do bring a good point. Some voices do annoy me. I sometimes worry if my voice annoys others. I have been told many times I have a cartoon voice

I imagine that my voice annoys some people too! Gary sometimes tells me that I am talking too loudly - and that is exactly what annoys me in a public place! LOL! My problem is that he is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids, so I have to talk louder to him, especially if there is background noise. So, I'm SURE I annoy other people too! Wouldn't you know it!

I have a student on my bus who sounds like Ray Romano of Everybody Loves Raymond...lol. Drives me crazy sometimes.

My laugh has got to drive people nuts, but when something really gets me going....I cackle and loud too.

Diana, my (soon-to-be) four year old Emma, likes to talk constantly too. Sometimes I have to say, "Emma, I need you to be quiet for a while, my ears are starting to bleed". She knows that isn't real - my ears are starting to bleed, is a phrase our family uses a lot. LOL! But she knows when we say it, we have had enough of her talking for awhile.

Dae Lynn sends Karlie to her room or outside to play. I try to listen but sometimes it gets to be too much so I send her outside to play or turn on the TV. She's getting where she's asking some pretty intelligent questions!!!

She's in preschool at our public school (and loving it). They learned a song that spells out October........Karlie sat down and sang the song over and over and wrote down the word "October" all by herself!! We were so impressed!! They have such a good program at the school.

Cell phone conversations also annoy me totally! In NYC, where there are so many different cultures, sometimes the cacophony of accents can drive me crazy! I have learned to tune out as much as possible, but the cell phoners I cannot tolerate.
