Wine anyone???

There have been so many of you saying that you like relaxing (or whatever) with a nice glass of wine. I've tried a few, not many, but I've never liked the taste. Is it something you acquire? Are there some that don't taste so much like alcohol? Or is it that I'm just a girl who likes her Bud Light?

Red wine is DEFINATELY an acquired taste. A lot of people who aren't avid wine drinkers like white wine better because unlike red wine, which is served at room temperature, it is served chilled. The cheap wines are the ones that have that rubbing alcohol taste to them. If you get a nice bottle of wine, it goes down so smoothly and has a great taste.

You say you like Bud Light?? Well, beer is an acquired taste, too, right?? You can definately acquire a taste for wine, if you want to. I have definately acquired a taste for wine. I like all kinds, colors, prices, temperatures...it's all good to me!

I don't know, Janet. I just have never found anything I really like. I used to have a strawberry daquiri occasionally, but that's about it.

You have to acquire a taste for beer???? Come on now...nothing better than an ice cold beer in a frosted mug, unless it's a second ice cold beer in a frosted mug...LOLOL I've always liked beer, from my very first sip. I don't drink it to be drinking it, but if we go out, I love a beer with my food. I can eat a piece of chocolate cake and wash it down with a nice cold beer. Yummy yummy!!!

I may have to go try a nice "cold" wine and see how I like it. Don't think the room temperature stuff..doesn't even sound good.

You should try a nice glass of White Zinfandel. It is light pink in color and has a sweet taste to it. I like Red Wines but I have to admit it is an acquired taste. I seem to have developed some kind of an allergy to red wines so I stick to white wines. I love beer myself! I am a Michelob light lady!! TO bad we don't live closer.. We could have a wine tasting party!

Janet I love my wine, I prefer white to red. I occassionly drink a merlot, but I like chardonnay or pinot grigilo. These wines are dry, you may have to acquire a taste ,like someone mentioned white zinfadel is good but to sweet for me... Try it , wine does make you mellow and I always relax with a good glass of wine...lol

Wouldn't that be fun?? A wine tasing party with the ladies from 4WT.

LOL, sure wish wine came in small sample bottles. That is what has kept me from trying any. I hate wasting money! If I didn't like it, I would want my money back..LOL

Janet, I think you would LOVE Reisling. It is my all-time favorite! It is white, served chilled, and slightly sweet but also has a wine taste. My very favorite brand is Schmitt Sohne Riesling. I attached some pictures of the bottle so you will know what to look for. You can get it at any grocery store...it's only like $8-$10 a bottle. It's SOOO yummy!!!!

Wine does come in small sample bottles. they have em at meijers, but you have to buy a 4-pack. I would suggest going to Olive Garden and order the cheapest glass of wine (except for the principato that stuff is bad), if you like a fruit flavor get a blush, if you prefer tart get a white. The first sip will pucker your lips, but it'll get pretty good right after that.

One word of caution. NEVER get drunk on wine, Worst hangover ever. Limit intake to under 1 bottle & you should be fine.

The reason I started drinking wine is I love the buzz I get from it. It's a very mellow, sensual buzz & I just love the feeling & it only takes half a glass or so for the buzz to start.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE beer!!!!!! It's my drink of choice, that and wine. But when I started drinking beer at 15 years old (SHHHHHH...see Janet, I'm not such an angel child ) I definately didn't like it. But I certainly acquired a taste for it. There is nothing better than an ice cold beer.

What are your favorite beers? Mine are:
Bud Light
Natural Light (yes, that's right. I LOVE Natural Light!)
Amber Bock
Corona

i LOOOOOOOVE wine... i actually worked at the Olive Garden and it all began from there..i soon was the house wine expert and would go to tables to assist people with choosing wines! granted they dont actually sell many wines that i like...but it did spark my passion! if i were starting out with wine i would def go with a sweet white... sometimes even the zin's are a little too "alcoholicy" lol especially the cheap ones. i would suggest a reisling...the one RLC suggested is a good one and also a chenin blanc... its realllllly light and fruity and they generally have no harsh aftertaste. janet im sure that if u love beer...i could make u love wine even more!! just ask if you have any questions!
